The Call To Ministry:
Biblical Ministry can be defined as "the work of God for the people of God. It is the work of serving others, using the spiritual and natural gifts, resources and power that God has graciously given to us through the Holy Spirit”. All true believers in Jesus Christ are therefore called to be ministers in a sense. (Romans 12:4-8, 1st Corinthians 12:7-12).
But in addition to this general or initial calling, some believers in Christ are called to the church’s special ministries (Ephesians 4:12).
On Sunday, July 20, 2008, families and friends of Community Baptist Church will gather to acknowledge the call and licensing of Elders Vernard Bennett, Paul Levine, Flint Opoku Agyeman and George Everett as Lay Ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Church family will elect two Deaconate Members and one Trustee Board Member. The nominees are: Mrs. Elizabeth Simmons - Worship Deaconess, Ms. Shirley Andrews - Fellowship Deaconess and Mr. Michael Holligan - Trustee-at-Large. We invite all who can to join us.
